Entrevistamos a Alain Fissore, coordinador del Partido Comunista (Italia) en el Reino Unido para conocer de su mano cual es la situación de la clase obrera italiana en el Reino Unido y conocer su opinión sobre la situación que está viviendo el Reino Unido en la actualidad.

– Cuéntanos un poco sobre la situación actual de tu país y cómo ha tenido un impacto en el movimiento migratorio en los últimos años.

Italia, como la mayoría de los países del sur de Europa, se enfrenta a una crisis capitalista que ahora afecta a cientos de miles de italianos que han abandonado el país en busca de empleo hacia el norte de Europa.

– ¿Qué dirías que es el perfil del emigrante de tu país? (Edad, Nivel de educación, Estudiante / Trabajador …)

Por el momento, la mayor parte de los emigrantes italianos son hombres y mujeres jóvenes, cualificados o no cualificados, seguidos de hombres y mujeres italianos menos jóvenes que han perdido sus empleos en los últimos diez años debido al cierre de fábricas, centros de llamadas, almacenes, o incluso sucursales bancarias. Por último, aunque no menos importante, hay familias enteras que han tenido que abandonar el país.

-¿Existe una posibilidad real de que los migrantes vuelvan a corto plazo o por la situación en su país no se ve viable?

Existe una gran posibilidad en este momento de que con Brexit, un buen número de italianos en Gran Bretaña se vean obligados a abandonar el país y regresar a Italia. Desafortunadamente, la situación económica en Italia no es lo suficientemente buena como para proporcionar un trabajo para cada italiano que deja Gran Bretaña.

-Ahora hablemos un poco del Reino Unido. ¿Cómo ve la situación actual en el Reino Unido con respecto a la Unión Europea y cómo esto puede afectar a los trabajadores que viven aquí?

La situación actual en el Reino Unido es un poco mejor que la situación en Italia cuando se trata de trabajos disponibles, pero es tan mala como en Italia en lo que respecta a la estabilidad laboral y el poder adquisitivo. La relación entre el Reino Unido y la Unión Europea, con la situación del Brexit, definitivamente va a afectar el futuro de los italianos en Gran Bretaña, como se confirmó en una reunión a la que asistí el lunes 18 de diciembre en la Universidad de Manchester. A partir de marzo de 2019, los inmigrantes de la UE deben tener los documentos adecuados para vivir y trabajar en Gran Bretaña, y los documentos se denominan así: residencia permanente y status de asentado. Ambos documentos constan de alrededor de 80 páginas, y el segundo documento que muestra al gobierno británico dice que los solicitantes de la UE son capaces de vivir en este país sin acceder al Estado de Bienestar, como en el caso de los beneficios de desempleo, y el NHS (Servicio de Salud Pública), por lo que proponen que utilicemos un seguro de salud privado, como en los Estados Unidos.

-Podríamos decir que se habla sobre el Brexit a diario. Y vemos que en el Reino Unido existe un creciente apoyo a la extrema derecha, incluso en algunas ciudades de una manera más alarmante. ¿Cómo se analiza?

El ascenso del extremismo de derecha durante una crisis económica es un aspecto “normal” en una sociedad capitalista controlada por jefes codiciosos y monopolios privados. Necesitan el extremismo de derecha para distraer a la clase trabajadora de las causas reales de la crisis económica en el capitalismo. Por tal razón, en los países occidentales necesitamos un movimiento sindical fuerte capaz de involucrar a los trabajadores en el único conflicto real que existe en el sistema económico real, que es el conflicto entre Capital y trabajo, y un partido marxista-leninista que es capaz de proporcionar a los trabajadores el análisis correcto de las contradicciones del capitalismo.

– De acuerdo con la filtración de ese documento del Ministerio del Interior británico sobre el Brexit publicado a principios de diciembre, habrá muy pocas posibilidades para los trabajadores menos cualificados en este país que limiten a dos años el permiso de residencia y cinco si están cualificados. Una medida anti-obrera evidente. ¿Qué futuro nos espera?

El futuro que nos espera es sin duda un futuro negativo en el que los patrones y los gobiernos occidentales intentarán dividir aún más a los ricos y a los pobres, a través de bajos salarios y una fuerte reducción del Estado de Bienestar.

-Por otra parte. La clase trabajadora no parece tener un referente y ahí es donde debe comenzar el trabajo de los comunistas. Entendemos que como Partido Comunista en el exterior tiene una línea de trabajo con los inmigrantes. ¿Podría contarnos un poco sobre su trabajo en el Reino Unido?

Hablar con los italianos en Gran Bretaña no es una tarea fácil, ya que muchos de ellos, jóvenes o menos jóvenes, miran la política con pesimismo y enojo. Pesimismo porque no ven ninguna alternativa al sistema social y económico real de explotación; enojo porque culpan a la política, y no al capitalismo, por su migración al extranjero. Sin embargo, cuando nos acercamos a los italianos en Gran Bretaña, les hablamos con hechos y pruebas que se refieren a las contradicciones del capitalismo, como las condiciones de trabajo precarias y los bajos salarios tanto en Italia como en Gran Bretaña.

¿Cuál es la experiencia que tiene en el Reino Unido como Partido Comunista?

La experiencia que tengo como miembro de un Partido Comunista en Gran Bretaña es de la falta de un movimiento sindical fuerte capaz de movilizar a los trabajadores contra las reformas laborales, con el objetivo de destruir lo poco que queda del estado de bienestar. en este país. Esto va ligado a la falta de un partido político que realmente apoye a la clase obrera en Gran Bretaña, ofreciendo una alternativa marxista-leninista a la sociedad bárbara capitalista contemporánea.

We interviewed Alain Fissore, coordinator of the Communist Party (Italy) in the United Kingdom to learn from his hand what the situation of the Italian working class in the United Kingdom is and to know his opinion on the situation that the United Kingdom is currently experiencing.

– Tell us a little about the current situation of your country and how it has had an impact on the migratory movement in recent years.

Italy, as most of Southern European countries, is facing a Capitalist crisis which is now affecting hundreds of thousands of Italians who have left the country, looking for jobs in Northen Europe.

-What would you say is the profile of the emigrant of your country. (Age, Level of education, Student / Worker …)

At the moment, the biggest part of Italian emigrants are young men and women, qualified or not qualified, followed by less young Italian men and women who have lost their jobs in the past ten year due to closures of factories, call centres, warehouses, or even bank branches. Last but not least, there are even families leaving the country.

-Is there a real possibility that the migrants return short term or as is the situation in their country does not see it viable?

There is a very strong possibility at the moment that with Brexit, a good number of Italians in Britain might be forced to leave the country, and return back to Italy. Unfortunately, the economic situation in Italy is not good enough to provide a job for every Italian leaving Britain.

– Now let’s talk a little about UK. How do you look at the current situation in the UK with regard to the European Union and how this can affect the workers who live here?

The current situation in the UK is a bit better than the situation in Italy when it comes to jobs available, but it is as bad as it is in Italy when it comes to job stability, and spending power. Secondly, the relationship between the UK and the European Union, with the Brexit situation, is definitely going to affect the future of Italians in Britain, as it was confirmed in a meeting that I attended on Monday the 18th of December at the University of Manchester. From March 2019, immigrants from the EU must have the right documents to live and work in Britain, and the documents are called as follows: Permanent Residency, and Settled Status. Both documents consist of around 80 pages, and the second document involves showing the British Government that EU applicants are capable of living in this country without accessing the Welfare State, like in the case of unemployment benefits, and being able to use the NHS through a private health insurance, like in the US.

-We could say Brexit is being talked about every day. But we see that in the UK there is growing support for the extreme right, even in some cities in a more alarming way. How do you analyse it?

The rise of right-wing extremism during an economic crisis is a “normal” aspect in a Capitalist society controlled by greedy bosses and private monopolies. They need right-wing extremism in order to distract the working class from the actual causes of the economic crisis in Capitalism. For such a reason, in Western countries we need a strong trade union movement able to involve workers in the only true conflict that there is in the actual economic system, which is the conflict between Capital and work, and a Marxist-Leninist party which is able to provide workers with the correct analysis of Capitalism’s contradictions.

– According to the leakage of that document of the British Interior Ministry on the BREXIT published in December there will be very few possibilities for the less qualified workers in this country limiting to two years the residence permits and five if you are qualified. A full anti-worker measures. What future awaits us?

The future awaiting us is certainly a negative future where bosses and Western Governments will try to divide between rich and poor even more, through low wages, and a strong reduction of the Welfare State.

-On the other hand. The working class does not seem to have a referent and that is where the work of the communists must begin. We understand that as a Communist Party abroad you have a line of work with immigrants. Could you tell us a little about your work in the UK?

Talking to Italians in Britain is not an easy task, since many of them, young or less young, look at Politics with pessimism, and anger. Pessimism because they do not see any alternative to the actual social and economic system of exploitation; anger because they blame Politics, and not Capitalism, for their migration abroad. However, when we approach Italians in Britain we talk to them with facts and evidence referring to the contradictions of Capitalism, like precarious working conditions and low wages in both Italy and Britain.

-What is the experience you have in the UK as a Communist Party?

The experience I have as a member of a Communist Party in Britain is the lack of a strong trade union movement able to mobilise workers against job and pension reforms, aiming to destroy what little is left of the welfare state in this country. Secondly, the lack of political party which is really supportive of the working class in Britain, offering a Marxist-Leninist alternative to contemporary Capitalist barbaric society.
